Nine

“Wake up, sleepyhead,” Trey says as he grips Rebecca by the shoulder and shakes. Opening her eyes, she winces at the brightness of the light.

“It’s morning?” she groans, clamping her eyes closed again. “How did that even happen?”

She’s exhausted. And really not in the mood to get up yet.

“Let me sleep. I’m so tired.”

She stretches. Moaning softly as the cool silk moves sensuously over her skin.

And isn’t that the whole idea of lying in expensive sheets? Staying between them for as long as possible?

“You can sleep later. Tomorrow, even. Come on. We’re going to be late for breakfast. Bacon. Eggs. Hot toast dripping with butter. Doesn’t that sound delicious?”

“Are you trying to give me a coronary, doctor?” Her stomach growls all the same. She is rather hungry.

“Come on. Up. Otherwise, we aren’t going to get there on time.”

She opens one eye and stares at him.

“I thought we were eating in our room,” she says groggily, rubbing her eyes as Trey drags her from the most comfortable bed she’s ever slept in and into the adjoining bathroom.

Despite not wanting to be awake yet, she slept so well. Like a baby. And it’s only as he pulls her into the shower after him she realises he’s already naked. On top of that, within seconds, he’s dragged her nightdress off over her head and switched on the overhead spray. Water tumbling over their skin as he hauls her close and kisses her.

“No fair,” she says, as his hands and lips move all over her. Touching her here, kissing her there. And by the time her eyes have finally caught up with the rest of her body and she’s wide awake, her heart is a flutter as her gaze settles on the rod of steel between his legs.

He follows to where she can’t stop staring and he grins.

While Rebecca blushes.

Not because he’s hard. Or even because of the way he’s eating her alive with only his eyes, but more because it’s now that last night’s conversation comes flooding back to her and also because, by the look in his eyes, Trey has already gone there a hundred times over since he woke up.

“Trey…” she starts to tell him how maybe things got a little out of hand last night. Because they did, right? There’s no way he can say they didn’t or even claim that it was all a joke. But then she can’t go through with it, either. Not when faced with the cold light of reality.

It was one of those conversations. Spoken in haste. Repented at leisure. And no matter how intimidated she feels by Suzy’s sudden presence in their marriage, there’s no way he can really expect her to…

“Hush now,” he growls. Hands on her shoulders as he starts to apply pressure. Pushing her down. Forcing her to her knees. “I get it. It’s too much. But there are other ways you can please me, Rebecca. Other ways you can push boundaries that don’t involve you taking your clothes off and spreading your legs for my friends.
